Mold is a fungus that causes organic matter to decay. It is a growth of mold on the surface of something, or the discoloration caused by the growth of mold. Mold thrives in moist or humid conditions. Mold thrives on many types of building materials, such as cellulose which is contained in drywall, wood, etc. Some of the outward signs of mold are musty odors and discoloration. Mold can start to grow in less than 48 hours.
It is important to note that mold exists both outdoors and indoors. The true test is to have no greater level of mold inside the structure than the level outside the structure. When dealing with large mold growth issues, commercial property discovery and family health issues that may have mold as a contributing factor, we may recommend/require that the property owner obtain air sample testing or ATP Testing. Reports can be used to provide us with a roadmap towards professional remediation and cleanup of the proper areas.
OUR PROCESS INVOLVES
A certified technician is dispatched to inspect property for assessment. Depending on the degree of contamination (there are three levels of mold growth, and four levels of mold remediation), we may require a microbiologist IEP (indoor environment professional) to test the area and create a scope of work. We’ll then follow the plan of action created by IEP, including coordinating repair of leaks, extracting water, drying the structure and removing and remediating the mold.
Don’t begin cleaning without a thorough plan and remediation evaluation.
